This website is my proudest achievement. I taught myself WordPress primarily so I could make this site. I created a custom Wordpress theme, complete with an automated calendar, multimedia galleries, custom maps and a simple backend interface.

The Smell is one of the only places in Los Angeles that supports youth culture and encourages experimental music for an all ages crowd. It is known internationally as the home of the best music scene on the west coast.

I wanted The Smell to have a website where people could easily upload videos and photos that they took at shows and have them displayed elegantly for everyone to see. It took quite a long time to build the site, since I was learning WordPress as I went along, but the end result is better than I imagined.

The site is maintained by a volunteer staff, so I had to design everything to be as easy and unbreakable as possible. I created a backend that is made of simple custom forms, no coding needed.

Spragwerks is an e-commerce site for industrial jewelry and accessory designer Rich Sandomeno. He wanted a site that was both modern and simple, yet still tough and stylish. I incorporated artwork he designed for his printed brochures and modified elements to work as background textures and framing graphics. I animated his logo in Flash, as well as created a seamless grunge tile for the background.

This was my first venture into creating an e-commerce site with a shopping cart. The site is running entirely on the WordPress platform with a custom designed theme.
